At 9:45 this morning, Ethan was happily singing and dancing to the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was getting the Disney memory game ready to play after the song when smack...went Ethan's forehead on the coffee table. I wasn't too freaked out b/c he didn't hit that hard and wasn't crying instantly. I ran to look at his forehead and he had a deep 2 inch gash in the center of his forehead. PANICKED MOTHER!! I quickly got ice and a towel, threw on my shoes and quickly tried to get a hold of Jon. I felt so bad that he had to sit alone in the back of the car and hold his own ice, but he did a great job. On my way to the ER, I thought maybe his doctor can do the stitches. I called and they do them there thank goodness. I finally got a hold of Jon and he met us at the doctor's office. His cut was deep but they said that it was a perfectly straight cut, so they could use glue instead to heal the gash. He is now on antibiotic and Tylenol for the pain. He is already running and playing and acting like Ethan. The whole incident from start to finish (back home again) was 1 1/2 hours. Thank goodness that Ethan was so calm and so good. He kept telling me that he was okay. I was more worked up than he was. What a morning!
He has to wear a band aid for 10 days. Just in time for his birthday party. He is smiling and saying cheese. It is not a grimace :)

Glad you both made it out of this one ok. We are looking forward to seeing you guys next week at the party.
Poor guy. He is still adorable, even with a band aid on his forehead... Get well soon Ethan!
Ethan sure seemed to be himself today at lunch! It was so much fun to watch him and talk to him - what a great boy! Poppa Mark
I hope you don't mind, I peek at your blog every once in awhile. It's fun to see your cute family. I have to post about this. I get nervous about having a boy. I can only imagine what this will be like. Our girls have never had stitches. Liam, our boy, will be much more active, I'm sure. Thank goodness for the miracle glue! Sounds like Ethan was very brave!
Not sure if you'll check the posts from 4th of July, but could you pass my e-mail on to Amy Springsteen. I've tried to get in touch with her FOREVER! Thanks.
