Ethan's very first 4th of July was spent at my parents' home in Vegas. He loved it, and Jon and I loved it there too! We wanted to make it one of our family traditions; however, last year I had to start my next school year on the 5th of July, so Ethan's second 4th of July was not spent in Vegas liked we had hoped. Fast forward to 2008...thank goodness I now have the month of July off and can finally have our family tradition to spend the 4th of July in Vegas.
Our 4th of July weekend was wonderful! It was both relaxing and eventful all at the same time. We were able to take Ethan, Taylor, and Brennan (forgot to mention that Stacey, Taylor, and Brennan joined us at my parents' home) to Circus Circus to go on some of the smaller roller coasters and rides, but the highlight of the trip was of course the 4th of July extravaganza at the Country Club. Ethan, Taylor, and myself were chauffeured there by golf cart courtesy of my Dad. Ethan just loved Poppa's cart! The place had yummy food for adults and kids, cotton candy, ice cream, a jumper, pinata, and many many fun games for the kids to play before the fireworks. Ethan participated in the tug-of-war game. His team the blue fireworks lost, and Ethan was very upset. I was very surprised that he understood the concept of losing and he even cried about it. He also watched his best buddy Taylor and cousin Seryna race in potato sacks. Ethan did not want to participate in that one. Ethan and all the kids hit the pinata, and Ethan loved loved loved the obstacle course. After dinner and all the games and excitement, which also included playing with sand toys in the sand trap, it was time for the big event the FIREWORKS!! Ethan just loved all it! It was amazing to see the fireworks so up close. It was an awesome sight! We had such a blast in Vegas with my parents. I am so glad we can finally do this every single year. It truly is the best place to be on the 4th of July. Thanks Mom and Dad!

So glad that you had safe travels, and a great time. The pictures remind me of our Palm Springs trips- that sadly we won't be having anymore since Kirk's grandma sold her condo. It's so nice to get away once in a while- yay for you guys. Happy vacationing!
Oh, by the way, I have a new block on my blog comments. I have to approve them before they post because I had one weird post that came up.
Ethan looks like such a big boy in the water balloon picture! I can't believe he is almost 3!!!!!
Have you tried the free summer kids movies there at Dos Lagos? I am taking my kids tomorrow to the one off of Limonite.
We are also planning to go to the Chino Youth Museum on Wednesday. Next Wednesday the kids want to go to Jumping Jacks (a place with tons of jumpers). Let me know if you want to come. We'd love to see Ethan (and you of course :) )
First, I have to say, Briana, you look fabulous. Love the Wicked pictures. I got to see that too. Loved it! You look just as good as you did in HS! I, actually, was hoping you could pass on my e-mail to Amy. I've tried to find her for a LONG time! I was so excited to see her picture. I would love to get in touch with her again. Thanks.
