Exciting News!

On August 25th, I had a doctor's appointment that confirmed that we are going to have another baby! We were both excited and surprised to find out the news. Without getting into too much detail, it truly is a miracle that this little baby has come into our lives. I was told about 10 months ago that it would be almost impossible to conceive another child, so when we were asked from family and friends about having another child or response became, we are happy with one. Since I did not believe that I could get pregnant, I had no idea how far along I was. At my appointment I was measuring 14 weeks, but my doctor said that does not mean that I am truly that far along, but I was able to hear the heartbeat, which at least put me at 9 weeks or so! A week and a half later, I had my first ultrasound to confirm the size and dates of the baby. Jon & Ethan were both there. Ethan did not like the jelly or the fact he believed that the ultrasound tech was hurting his Mommy, but he was fascinated with the black and white image that was moving on the monitor and kicking Mommy's belly. The ultrasound confirmed that I was now 15 weeks pregnant. Jon & I both looked at each other almost like we could not believe it. The other amazing part of the ultrasound was that the tech told us that she was 90% sure that we were having another BOY!! I am now 17 weeks along and don't feel like it at all...I'm not showing a bit. This little baby will complete our family in February, since my due date is my birthday. The 21st to be exact. What a wonderful 30th Birthday present that will be!

Look Who's A Season Pass Holder!

Now that Ethan is 3, he is no longer free when entering Disneyland. On Saturday, we took Ethan to get his very first pass and photo. He was very excited to hold his card. It was just like Mommy's and Daddy's. Ethan is truly growing up!

Spending time with Daddy!

At the end of August, I had to go back to work to set up my classroom. Jon took a few days off to spend time with Ethan. The first place he took him was to the Bowling Alley. Ethan has a love for bowling. He must get it from is Grandma because it sure isn't from me. Darn double jointed elbows. He could not bowl with only one bowling ball. It had to pick three bowling balls all of which were different colors: green, red, and orange. He did not bowl as well as his first outing with Auntie Twila, but he still did very well. He bowled almost a 100!

The next day, Jon took Ethan to a duck park in Chino Hills. They spent a few hours running on the grass, watching the ducks, and feeding ducks some bread. Ethan loves to spend time with his Daddy. They are best buddies!

Anniversary, Jon's Birthday, & Poppa's Birthday!

If I were to blink, I would miss three important events the second week of August. The first was on the 10th, which was Jon & I's sixth wedding anniversary. Anniversaries are not a big thing for us, but we actually did something small this year. My parents watched Ethan for 3 hours while Jon & I had lunch at Johnnie Rockets (one of my favorites as a child) and we saw the movie Dark Knight. Afterward, we went back to my parents' for a barbeque. The next day was Jon's 29th birthday. He is now my age! Jon went to work as usually, and when he got home Ethan had picked out a cake, the decorations (basketball), and his present a Spongebob Squarepants balloon. Ethan enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and helped Jon blow out the candles. The next day, is my father's birthday. He turned the big 5-5! We went over for dinner that evening to my parents' house. Ethan brought the chocolate cake (Poppa's favorite), a golfing balloon (Ethan already knows my father's love for the sport), and the decorations (Spongebob this time). Ethan loved that everyone seemed to be having a birthday in August. He even began learning to eat a few bites of cake. August truly is a busy month!

Brennan's Baptism

On August 9th, our family went to see our dear friend Brennan get baptized. It was a wonderful event, and I reflected on the baptism of Taylor Rose (his sister) of which I'm the godmother. The ceremony and was beautiful and the luncheon afterward was yummy. We are so thankful to have a such wonderful friends in our lives. We love the Garcia Family!

Camping in Carpinteria

You read the title right...Briana went camping. I know...I know...I hate the beach, the sand, the dirt, the bugs, and the outdoors for that matter, but I sucked it up and our family spent 2 days and one (looong) night camping. We drove up to Carpinteria to day after Ethan's birthday. We spent our time camping with Jon's mom, his sister Janell's family, and his sister Joanna's family. We spent the days at the beach. Ethan played in the sand and in the ocean (most of you know what I think about the ocean...thanks mother). He had no fear and would run right into the waves if we let him. He also loved chasing the sea gulls on the shore. In the even, we went out to dinner at a Mexican eatery and my son got a hamburger. This so much reminded me of my own brother at this exact age. Back at camp, Ethan roasted marshmallows and ate smorse, he played a few games of uno, and was read a few stories from his favorite book. Ethan loved camping and Jon did too. I was on my best behavior...I promise.

Ethan's 3rd Birthday!

I can't believe my little boy is three years old. I have know idea where the time has gone. He is such a little man. He has his own mind, his own opinions, and own routines. He knows all his letters low and upper case and knows all his letter sounds, he knows all of his basic shapes, his numbers for 0-20, knows basic sight words: a, my, like, I, and see. We are working on his fine-motor skills. He still hasn't decided if he is left-handed or right-handed, but he must learn to write and cut, so he MUST decide! He is working on making shapes, drawing straight lines, and cutting with scissors. He loves to sing in the car whether it is a Sesame Street CD or from the group Shinedown. He loves drawing Mickey Mouse, with a bowl and cup, and going bowling. His best buddies, from his own mouth are: Taylor, Trey, Andy, Brooke, Brynn, and Bruin.

He is the best little boy in the entire world, and I'm so glad he is mine!

On the 2nd of August, he had a birthday party with the theme of Toy Story. He had a jumper, a few games, and a pinata. He had many friends and family there to celebrate his big day! He had so much fun, and it was just so wonderful to see everyone there for him.

On his actual birthday, the 4th, Jon & I took him to Disneyland and California Adventure, which is one of his favorite places in the world. Happy Birthday Ethan! We love you!

Lunch with Shamu!

I know, I know, I know... it has been forever since my last blog. I have been crazy busy, but I promise to play catch-up.

At the end of July, we took a two day family trip to San Diego. We had the opportunity to go to Sea World and have lunch with Shamu! Ethan was so excited, and loved being so close to the Orca. We had front row seats, and Ethan got to look over the small fence that was the only barrier from him and Shamu. Other highlights of the day, was going to Sesame Street Bay of Play where Ethan got to go on many Sesame Street rides. Ethan's favorite show was Shamu's night show. He loved to see Shamu splash the people in the soak zone. After we left Sea World, we went to our hotel where we had a awesome view of the fire works show before bed-time.

The next day we left for Legoland where Ethan was a little burned out, but enjoyed himself nonetheless.
