The reason that I started doing this blog was to journal eventful happens with our family...but meaning mostly our son Ethan. This evening, I will go against my usual norm and write about an event that just happened to me. I was on the phone with my dear friend Stacey. She was on her way to pick up her children in Ontario after a days work. We were talking about this and that, when....I froze. I then became panicked, which I rarely do around anyone other than immediate family and Jon. I told Stacey that there was the biggest spider on the window of my kitchen. I told her that our pest control was just here. That I didn't understand why there was a spider in my house! Now you may be thinking...kill the dang spider geez, and I normally would except for the fact that the spider was HUGE! I continued to talk to Stacey while I googled the word spiders. Up pops dozen of spiders that look like my spider and they all say venomous. This does not help me ease my panic. I take a picture of it with my cell phone and send it to her. Briz and herself than say...wow that IS a big spider, like they did not believe me. I also sent the photo to Jon with the text: HELP. While I was waiting for Jon to call me on my cell phone, Stacey was helping me decide if I should spray it or suck it up wih the vaccuum. I told her that I didn't know if the vaccuum would really kill it, when the phone rang. I put our house phone down and answered my cell phone. It is was Jon. I asked if he got the photo message and he said that he hadn't. I told him about the spider and he just told me to smash it. He apparently did not believe the size of the spider either. I told him that he was not helping, and I hung up. I was back on the phone with Stacey still talking about the ways to get rid of the spider without it attacking me (don't laugh). I then glance over at Ethan, who apparently was not too happy that I had been ignoring him for about 15 minutes and decided to dump his drink on the floor and dance on it. I send him quickly to his room, and was in the process of grabbing a towel for the clean up, when now my doorbell rings. It was my next door neighbor Denise. I told Stacey that I had to go and that I would call back. I let Denise in and she tells me that Jon called her to come over and kill the spider for me. How modifying! I show her the spider and she said, wow that is a very big spider. She was even hesistate. She pulls up the blinds and opens the window. The spider runs under the track. My first thought was...No! where is the spider? I need it dead. We look for it for about 3 minutes when I find in outside on the wall. Denise smashes it with a paper towel and we hear a crunch, but the spider runs away. However, there were guts on the towel. She tells me that it will die. I believe her...and still do. (hope hope hope) I then spray the area where the dying spider could be with gallons of water. As Denise was leaving and I was giving her a hundred thank yous, my front door opens and Stacey and Briz had come to rescue me as well. They of course wanted to see this spider in person, but it was too late. Denise got a kick out of the fact that there were so many people to help me with one spider. I'm telling you it was huge. This is the craziest story, and I feel so silly for being so terrified of a spider (I'm normally not I promise). I thought I would share my ordial...I'm telling you it was huge...see for yourself....

I was laughing as I was reading, but when I saw the picture I realized what you were talking about. I would be freaked out too if I saw that spider, and normally things like that don't bother me too much. Glad that you are safe.
